I am anticipating spring. I see signs of buds on trees and even the desert is looking green. I love the feel of the sun on my face. I know that winter is passing and soon there will be signs of new life appearing on the earth. Poets have written eloquently on the beauties of spring. I only know that it represents the passing of another season with the promise of renewal.
Solomon wrote in Song of Songs 2:11-12 “For lo, the winter is past. The rain is over and the flowers appear on the earth. The time of singing has come, and voice turtledove is heard in our land.”
Our conversion is reminiscent of spring.
After the cold, dark days of uncertainty, foreboding and helplessness we come into a new relationship. Our doubts have taken on certainty; our future is no longer fearful; our helplessness is now given to our “Helper”.
2 Corinthians 5:17. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old thingshave passed away; behold, allthingshavebecomenew.”
Spring is a rebirth. God is providing us a preview of a new life with Him because in Him there is rebirth……a rebirth of your spirit.
So put away the dark, cold and dreary days of winter. Walk into the sun…..let it shine on your face.
Look at the sky, the clouds the birds….and remember spring……this is you new life in Christ.
